Research Activities

1   Characterization of physiological role of newly identified splicing variants of -opioid receptors.

2   Development of new -opioid peptides as an analgesic.

3      Characterization of the physiological role of neurotransmitters for spinal pain transmission.

4      Characterization of the mechanism of neuropathic pain (nerve injured neuropathy, inflammatory chronic pain, cancer pain, multiple sclerosis).

Current research group consists of 33 persons, including 4 faculty, 1 postdoctoral fellow, 9 graduate students, 14 undergraduate students.
